At peak current at over 8 knots (9.5 mph) almost 900 million gallons of water poor through Deception pass. That's 50 times more flow that all the rivers in Puget Sound.

Cost To Build: The bridge only cost $482,000 to build, and was completed in just 12 months!

Height From Water To Roadway: about 180 feet, depending on the tide

Roadway: two 11 foot lanes, one in each direction

Sidewalks: 3 foot sidewalk on each side

Width Of Bridge Deck: 28 feet

Total Length: 1487 feet (more than a quarter mile)

Canoe Pass: one 350-ft arch

Deception Pass: two 175-ft cantilever spans
